The U-Maine-Fort Kent women’s soccer team shut-out USCAA no. 8 ranked Penn College 3-0 Tuesday afternoon for their third shutout win in as many days on a road trip in Pennsylvania. The Lady Bengals improved to 12-1 with the win while Penn College dropped to 8-5-1.

Katherine Ferland accounted for all the goals in the contest as she recorded a hat trick with two fist half goals (6th minute and 16th minute) and added one in the second half (53rd minute). Ariane Laberge-Pelletier picked up a pair of assists for UMFK and Kimika Forbes had five saves on five PC shots for her tenth shut-out of the season. Colleen Bowes had ten saves on 13 UMFK shots taking the loss for PC.

UMFK outshot PC 25-8 overall and held a 5-2 edge in corner kicks. The Lady Bengals have given up just two goals all season, both in their only loss, a 2-0 set-back verse Daemen College on September 7.
