The U-Maine-Fort Kent men’s basketball team has received a verbal commitment from junior college transfer Marquis Glenn from Oakland, California. The versatile 6’4 wing played his last two years at Canada (“Ca-na-da”) College, a junior college located in Redwood City, California. This past season, Marquis, who has been accepted into the Business Management program at UMFK, was named team captain and averaged 12 points and eight rebounds per game. As a freshmen he was named a Coast-North Conference Honorable Mention team member averaging 16.2 points and six boards, both team highs.

Prior to Canada, Marquis starred at Fremont High School in his native Oakland, California averaging eight points per game his senior year. He also played a season of varsity football in high school.

“The Bengal Basketball Family is very excited to land Marquis. His defensive versatility, ability to rebound on both ends and his overall maturity will be a welcomed asset to our program” stated UMFK men’s basketball coach Eric Werntgen.
