September 24, 2015 • Fort Kent, Maine

Fort Kent, Maine—The University of Maine at Fort Kent men’s soccer team got off to a flaming start, with two goals in the first four minutes and continued to roll to a 6-1 victory over Berkeley College of New York.

Ross Downie scored just 1:46 into the match and Ben Kluvers scored just a minute and a half later off a header from a free kick from Jamie Reid. Kluvers would add two more goals for his first hat trick of the season, the last coming on a penalty kick in the second half. Odean Irons and Lewis Temple also added goals for the Bengals.

Butch Forbes conceded a header off a free kick to Solomon Ahanaonu in the 71st minute, but wasn’t required to make a save to pick up the win. Berkeley keeper Mathias Valle had to make nine saves in the loss.
