Bengals Beat Rival UMPI

Presque Isle, Maine--The University of Maine at Fort Kent men's basketball team snapped a two game losing streak and beat rival UMaine Presque Isle on Wednesday night, 74-58.

The game was close for 28 minutes, but the Bengals transition game started clicking and they went on a 15-4 run to break the game open and lead by a 55-44 score. UMFK would increase the lead to 18 with 3:35 remaining and proved to be enough.

Qaadir Ali turned in his best performance of the year, scoring 14 of his 19 in the second half, and chipped in 9 rebounds. Joe McCloskey scored 26 points and also had 9 rebounds. UMFK mad 20-24 foul shots and outrebounded UMPI 40-16.

UMPI was led by Kevin Collins' 14 points as UMFK held leading score Chase Vicaire to 2-12 shooting and six points.
