UMFK Hires New Athletic Trainer
April 7, 2016 • Fort Kent, ME

Fort Kent, Maine—University of Maine at Fort Kent athletic director Bill Ashby is pleased to announce the hiring of new athletic trainer, Kyle Fisher. Kyle will graduate in May of 2016 with a Master’s of Science in Athletic Training from Florida International University. Kyle currently works with the women’s soccer team at FIU.

Fisher will replace Andrea Sulavik who will leave Fort Kent to pursue other opportunities closer to her home state of Michigan. Fisher is originally from a small town in Pennsylvania and graduated with his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Bloomsburg University. There, Kyle was a star wide receiver for the football team, while being selected to the all-conference team. He was the #13 player in NCAA Division II to be selected to participate in the NFL Combine in San Diego, CA. After the Combine, he was awarded a tryout with both the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the New Orleans Saints.
“Kyle will be a great addition to our staff here at UMFK and we expect all of our teams to benefit not only from his athletic training background, but from his exercise science knowledge as well”, said athletic director Bill Ashby. Kyle also completed an internship for the Cleveland Browns of the NFL where he worked hand in hand with the professional athletes and training staff of the Browns.

Kyle will begin his appointment at UMFK on June 1.
