Men's Soccer Survives
October 8, 2016 • Boston, Massachusetts

Franklin, Massachusetts—The University of Maine at Fort Kent men’s soccer team survived a stern test from Dean College on Saturday afternoon, 2-0. Dean outshot UMFK 20-7, but the Bengals were able to use their few chances to put one goal in the back of the net each half. The Bengals won their third game in three days, and move to 15-0 on the season.

Rodney Witter scored in the first half and then assisted Ben Kluvers in the second half for the Bengals. Witter scored in the 22nd minute and Kluvers sealed the deal in the 81st minute. Akheim Forbes came up big several times in goal, making a season high eight saves. The Bulldogs of Dean College, used a pressing defense to keep the Bengals off guard, but ultimately the talent from UMFK prevailed.

The Bengals will play Dalhousie University next on October 18 after having several games cancelled in the NY/Pennsylvania area.
