Game Recap

 The U-Maine Fort Kent men got their first win of the New Year defeating USCAA D1 #12 SUNY Canton 71-63 Sunday afternoon in Canton, New York.

UMFK (9-6) held a slim advantage for most of the first half but the Roos fought back and eventually took the lead at 28-27 with 4:49 remaining. The Bengals then responded and closed the half on a 10-6 run to lead 37-34 at the break.

The Roos held their final lead on a jumper with 6:58 remaining when UMFK freshmen guard Jorge Matesanz nailed a three to but the Bengals ahead for good. UMFK hit 6 of 8 free throws in the final two minutes to seal the victory.

Senior forward Othniel Hyliger led the Bengals with 20 pionts and 12 rebounds for his third doubl-double of the year and senior guard Manny Odugbela added 18 points, eight rebounds and seven assists in an impressive all-around performance.
