Game Recap

 The University of Virginia at Lynchburg men’s basketball team upset U-Maine Fort Kent 84-70 in overtime in a USCAA match-up in Fort Kent, Maine on Saturday afternoon. The visiting Dragons came into the contest unranked in the USCAA but receiving votes. UMFK, who was number seven in the latest polls, had their eight game win streak snapped in the loss.

The Bengals (16-7) were led by senior Manny Odugbela who scored 26 points and grabbed 12 rebounds and Jeremy Thomas who added 22. The Dragons (6-17), who outscored UMFK 17-3 in OT, were led by Christopher Calvan’s 22 points and Egor Shakhmetov who had 21.

UMFK stumbled down the stretch blowing an eight point lead with just over two minutes left and then made just two of nine free throws, including critical front end misses of one-ones, in overtime.
