Game Recap

The Washington Adventist Shock defeated the University of Maine-Fort Kent Bengals 95-75 in a consolation game at the 2012 USCAA Men’s Division One Basketball National Championship in Uniontown, Pa. hosted by Penn State Fayette.   UMFK finishes their season at 17-11 and at the national tournament for the second time in the last three years. The Bengals participated in the NAIA D2 National Championships in 2010.

On Thursday morning, Washington Adventist (15-12), who is also an NCAA D2 Independent, was led by Daray Hill with 25 points and 9 rebounds.   USCAA All-American Marcus Coleman added 25 points, and Brandon Washington recorded a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Shock.

Playing in their final games at UMFK, senior Manny Odugbela led UMFK with 29 points on 13-18 shooting and fellow senior Othniel Hylinger recorded a double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds.

Washington Adventist shot 11-22 from the three point line and turned 26 UMFK turnovers into 35 points in the win.
