2017 WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL
- Admissions Counselor
- Head Women’s Volleyball Coach
Jessany will begin her first season as head volleyball coach after taking over for Tom Bird. She brings in a wealth of knowledge not only about volleyball but about the UMFK athletic tradition. Munoz was the starting Libero at UMFK in 2013 and 2014. She was one of four recruits to resurrect the volleyball program after a two year hiatus. She took the chance to be a part of a relatively “new” team and looked forward to moving to the East coast, where she played two years and was one of the top percentage leaders in the USCAA for Digs.
Prior to UMFK, Munoz began to play college volleyball and became one of the starting defensive specialists for the Shasta College volleyball team in Redding, CA. There she helped lead her team to the Northern California State playoffs in 2012. After her two seasons at Shasta she assisted the head Coach with Spring and Summer camps for the college and younger schools in the local areas from 2011-2013.
Born in Fort Worth, Texas and raised in a small town in Northern California, Jessany played all sports including volleyball. She began playing volleyball at the age of nine at the local rec centers. Soon after that she was the starting Libero on her high school varsity team as a sophomore. For two years following that she became the captain of her high school team and lead the team in digs and serve receive passes for all 3 years. Being awarded the most improved player, All-League Player and was named a captain two years in a row, Jessany finished out her high school volleyball career with the highest percentage of “digs” for the team and in the league top 30 for the state.
