UMFK Battles from Behind
October 11, 2017 • Boston, Massachusetts

Fort Kent, Maine—The University Of Maine at Fort Kent women’s soccer team was in an unfamiliar position at the half of their Wednesday afternoon matchup at Fisher College. The Bengals trailed 1-0 against a team they had defeated in September, 7-0. But UMFK weathered the storm, and USCAA Player of the Year Sherifatu Sumaila scored three second half goals to lead UMFK to a 3-1 win.

Sumaila put UMFK on the board just 18 seconds into the second half. She scored one in the 55th and one in the 65th minutes.

Alice Van Kovn picked up the victory in goal, making seven saves.
