Dover, Delaware—The University of Maine at Fort Kent women’s soccer team wrapped up its weeklong road trip with a tie against NCAA Division I, Delaware State University, 1-1 after two overtime periods, on Monday afternoon.
Bengals keeper Valentina Green made 12 saves on the afternoon, including three in overtime to preserve the tie. USCAA Player of the Year Sherifatu Sumaila scored the equalizer in the 68th minute when she dribbled past a defender and was able to blast a shot past the goalkeeper from about 15 yards out.
Daijah Norris scored for DSU off a corner kick that just slipped past Green for the Hornets goal.
The Bengals move to 9-1-3 on the season.
