UMFK Finishes Off Falcons
Fort Kent, Maine—Teamwork was the name of the game, and the key to success for the UMFK Men’s Soccer team in their triumph over the visiting Fisher College Falcons on Saturday afternoon. The Bengals proved themselves to be working together like a well-oiled machine as they displayed an incredibly high quality ability to share and move the ball. The passing ability of the Bengals, tore up the Falcon defense en route to six goals in favor of the home team. The Bengals dominated the time of possession and capitalized on the eleven corner kick opportunities that they had; scoring on three of them. One in particular, was a beauty as Shawn Genus lofted one up above the Falcon defense, to where only Bengal forward Damion Rankine could get to it and head it in to the back of the net. Shawn Genus also contributed mightily scoring a hat trick himself. Lewis Cockburn, Kyle Beaulier also scored for UMFK.
The UMFK Men’s Soccer team is now 7-3-2 and take on Maine Maritime in Castine, Maine on October 8th.
