UMFK vs. UMPI Doubleheader Rivalry Showdow Recap
December 12, 2018 • Fort Kent, ME

Fort Kent, Maine-- UMFK Women's Basketball cruised to victory at home over their rival, the University of Maine at Presque Isle on Wednesday evening 108-42.

Alyse Kline was huge for the Bengals off the bench with her 25 points and 9 rebounds. The Bengals and visiting Owls were neck and neck for the first few minutes of the game but the full court pressure from UMFK was too hot to handle for the Owls. The Bengals record now moves to 9-1 as they take on Husson University on Friday night in a huge showdown.

In the second half of the double header, the UMFK Men's Basketball team fell to UMPI 70-80.

The Owls came in to the game very well prepared as they were able to handle the full court pressure of the Bengals all night. Although the Bengals played hard and came within two points with eight minutes left, 56-54, they could not make the necessary plays they needed to take the lead. The Owls shot the ball incredibly well and were poised throughout the contest.

The Men's Basketball teams record now stands at 4-10 with a game against Fisher College coming up on Saturday in Boston.
