UMFK Wins in Waterville
April 15, 2019 • Fort Kent, ME

Waterville, Maine-- The University of Maine at Fort Kent Track & Field Program returned to action yesterday for the Thomas College Small School Open which featured 9 colleges/universities located in Maine.

The Bengals won 5 events to finish 3rd out of the 9 teams on the men's side and 7th out of the 9 teams on the women's side. Nick Gayle took the 100m dash in 11.35 seconds. Rodane Hibbert won the 400m hurdles in 1:02.52. Mandy Graham won the 5k in 19:43.50 (6:21 mile pace for the 3.1 mile race). Ajay Thompson captured the high jump in 1.85m (6'0.75"). And the men's 4x100m relay team of Nick Gayle, Rodane Hibbert, Aaron Boateng, and Ajay Thompson won in 44.41 seconds.

Other top 3 finishes for UMFK included Vinnette Blake taking 3rd in the 100m dash, Aaron Boateng taking 2nd in the 200m, and Rodane Hibbert taking 2nd in the 400m.
