The University of Maine at Fort Kent Track & Field Team kicked off the outdoor season in sunny and 70 degree Fredericksburg, Virginia this past weekend at the University of Mary Washington Opener. Paced by a strong performance by the throws crew, the Bengals finished in 7th place on both the men's and the women's side. 

Leading the way with top 3 finishes for the Bengals were Xavier Denis placing second in the javelin (37.47m (122'11")), Younes Iggoute placing 3rd in the javelin (32.64m (107'1")), and Raheem Thompson placing 3rd in the 100m dash (11.19). 

Also having big PR (personal record) days were Brian Wright with two (100m and 200m), Xavier Denis with two (Shot Put and Javelin)

The track & field program has a couple weeks of training before returning to the track at the Bowdoin Invitational on April 9th.
