The University of Maine at Fort Kent Track & Field Team kicked off the outdoor season in sunny and 70 degree Fredericksburg, Virginia this past weekend at the University of Mary Washington Opener. Paced by a strong performance by the throws crew, the Bengals finished in 7th place on both the men's and the women's side. 

The Bengals set 5 outdoor school records: Vinnette Blake (Long Jump), and Abbi Thompson in three events (Hammer, Discus, and Shot Put).

Other meet highlights included point scoring performances from Abbi Thompson (Shot Put), Casey Veilleux (100m), Jess Combs (Javelin) and Olivia Picard with three (Discus, Hammer, and Shot Put).
