Women’s Soccer receives commitment from Ontario goalkeeper

Ontario GK Jessica Kozachuk has committed to play soccer for the UMFK women in 2013

Jessica Kozachuk (GK from Ontario) has committed to play soccer for the U-Maine Fort Kent Lady Bengals in the fall of 2013.

Kozachuk most recently starred on her High School Northern Collegiate Senior Girls Team in Sarnia, Ontario this past fall where she was co-captain and helped lead the team to the All-Ontario High School “AAA” (OFSAA) Championships as well as to the finals of the Halton Cup (Oakville) All-high School Tournament (May 2012) and the championship of the North Lambton, Ontario All–High School Futsol Tournament.

Kozachuk also played club soccer for the London Gryphons Academy – Under 17 (USL Super Y Midwest Division) where she was also a co-captain and received a call-up to the London Gryphons U21 Ontario Women’s Soccer League (OWSL Provincial SouthDivision) She helped lead her team to the Championship in the Indoor League and Challenge Cup - U18 London Area and the finals of the U17 Nike Cup – Dublin, Ohio (April 2012).

Coach Lucas Levesque stated that, “Jessica will be a great addition to our program and she has a bright future ahead of her. She’s an experienced goalkeeper who certainly has the potential to be a starter down the road.”
