Women’s Soccer adds three Maine players for this fall
March 6, 2013 • Fort Kent, ME

The University of Maine at Fort Kent is pleased to announce that Maine High School soccer starts Alexis Desjardins (Fort Kent), Sadie Gosse (Richmond), and Kalee Kershner (Nokomis) have all committed to play soccer for the Lady Bengals next fall. The trio all come from quality programs and will fit in very well with Coach Levesque’s squad in 2013.

Desjardins is the reigning Class C Player of the Year after leading her team an Eastern Maine Championship for the second time in three seasons. The midfielder from Fort Kent was also named to the all-state team in 2012 and was recognized on the all-east team in 2011.

Gosse is coming off a tremendous career at Richmond in which she helped lead her team to 3 Class D State Titles. During her three years at Richmond, she had 42 goals and 50 assists and was named to the Maine all-west team in 2011 and 2012.

Kershner helped lead Nokomis to the playoffs in Class B despite the team losing several key starters to injury. She was a KVAC honorable mention selection in 2012 and was a four year starter in the program. Kalee’s versatility has been extremely valuable at Nokomis and that will help her adjust to the next level.
