UMFK closes regular season with home win over UMPI, looks towards USCAA Nationals

The University of Maine-Fort Kent closed their regular season with a 9-0 home win over U-Maine-Presque Isle Wednesday afternoon in Fort Kent, Maine. UMFK finishes the season at 15-2 and has earned a No. 2 seeding in the 2013 Soccer USCAA National Championships October 30 – November 2 in Charleston, West Virginia (USCAA story).

In Fort Kent Wednesday, UMFK honored seniors Sebastian Arsenault, Pierre-Oliver Lachance, and Kevin Dionne in a pregame ceremony and then gave them a shut out of Aroostook County neighbors UMPI.

Josh Kurensky led the UMFK attack with two goals and two assists with Kennard Brown and Jesse Shelton adding two goals each (full scoring below).

Jamie Cleland picked up the win in goal for UMFK before giving way to Alex Cabellero. UMFK outshot UMPI 26-0 on target and 42-0 overall.

Caleb Bragg-Grady made 17 saves in goal for UMPI who closes their season at 5-8-1.
