U-Maine-Fort Kent women’s basketball senior Jennifer Colpitts scored her 1,000 career point in a big 95-29 win over U-Maine-Machias Thursday night in Fort Kent, Maine. UMFK improved to 3-2 with the win while UMM dropped to 2-6.
Colpitts reached the mile stone with seven minutes left in the first half on a strong slash to the basket finishing a right handed lay-up over two UMM defenders. The guard finished the game with nine points (1,006 for her career) and a team-high six steals. UMFK forced 30 UMM turnovers and had 21 steals on the night.
Alexis Warne led UMFK with 14 points while Taylor Boucher and Skyler Olsen added 12 points each. UMM was led by Vanessa Patterson’s game-high 15 points.
