Four UMFK players named to All-Academic Team; Colpitts, Carapellucci, Givens All-Americans

University of Maine at Fort Kent men’s and women’s basketball players picked up awards this past week at the USCAA Basketball National Championships as the national office revealed this year’s All-Academic and All-American Teams.

Named to the 2014 USCAA Winter National All-Academic Team was men’s basketball team member Mauro Vicic (Sophomore, Kanfanar, Croatia) as well as women’s players Emily Bard (Junior, Fort Kent, Maine), Jasmin Rowland (Junior, Salinas, California) and Salinda Chan (Junior, San Jose, California). To qualify for the award, recipients needed to be in sophomore standing with a 3.5 GPA or above.

Senior guard Jennifer Colpitts (Scarborough, Maine) made the Women’s Division I Second Team while both Samantha Carapellucci (SO F Fort Kent, Maine) and James Givens (JR G Fairfield, California) were Honorable Mention team selections.
