October 18, 2014 • Barbourville, Kentucky

Union, Kentucky-- The UMFK men's soccer team completed an unbeaten road trip that spanned 10 days of games and travel with a win at Union College, 4-2. The win pushes the Bengals record to an astounding 17-0-1.

Today Ben Kluvers scored two first half goals after UMFK overcame an early goal by Union's Alex Smith in the 16th minute. Kluvers sandwiched two goals around a Stefan Petricevic goal to put the Bengals in the lead 3-1 at half time. Jamie Reid added a goal 20 minutes into the 2nd half and Union closed the scoring with a goal 3 minutes later.

Keepers Jamie Cleland and Akheim Forbes split halves, much like they've done all year. Each player allowed one goal and had four saves. UMFK outshot the Union side, 15-12 on the afternoon.

Earlier in the week, them Bengals got their only non-winning result by tying NCAA Division II Kentucky Wesleyan. UMFK was forced to come from behind again, this time they were able to tie it up thanks to a Kennard Brown goal in the 88th minute, to send it to overtime where the game ended in a tie after the two extra sessions. UMFK outplayed, and outshot KWU 25-11, including a dominant 14-3 in the 2nd half, but were only able to muster a single goal. Ben Kluvers had the assist on Brown's goal.
