Bengals Advance to Championship Game
December 5, 2014 • Northfield, Vermont

Norwich, VT- The University of Maine Fort Kent opened the Ed Hockenbury Classic with a blowout 89-43 win against Vermont Tech on Friday evening. Sabrina Head (Fremont, Calif.) led four Bengals in double figures with 13 points.

With the win, the Bengals improve to 3-3 on the season, while the loss drops the Knights to 2-4.

Also in double figures for the Bengals Danielle Carrillo, Ziggy Brown, and Necole White who all scored 11 on the night. will 11. Jasmin Rowland led the Bengals on the boards with a game-high 13 rebounds.

The game was never in question as UMFK scored 50 first half points and held a 33 point lead. The Bengals out rebounded Vermont Tech 57-23 in the game. They also forced 30 turnovers and turned those into 38 Bengal points.

UMFK is back in action tomorrow in the championship game against host Norwich University at 3:00pm.
