Monthe Sparks Bengals Win
September 4, 2015 • Fort Kent, Maine

Fort Kent, Maine—Willy Monthe has a special knack for coming up with timely goals. Today was no different as the senior from Montreal scored a goal in each half to spark the Bengal victory 6-0. Monthe broke a scoreless tie with two minutes remaining in the first half and added another four minutes into the second half. UMFK dominated the first half but couldn’t put one away until Monthe’s first.

The floodgates opened soon after as Ben Kluvers (55’), Justin Soontiens (70’), Garth Banton (80’) all added second half goals. Freshman Lewis Temple also scored his first career goal in a Bengal uniform on a penalty kick with three minutes remaining.

Keeper Butch Forbes got the win making two saves on two shots and MMA goalie Joshua Reeks made eight saves for the Mariners.

UMFK travels to Southern Maine to face St. Joes (ME) on Monday at 4:00pm.
