Fort Kent, Maine--The University of Maine at Fort Kent women's volleyball team continued their home success with a 3-0 win over UMaine Machias. The Bengals won the sets, 25-11, 25-9 and 25-2. With a limited home match schedule, the Bengals have not lost a match in over three years. UMFK got off to a slow start in the first set, but picked their game up in front of the home crowd.
Hope Grace and Brianna Krystek led the way for the Bengals with 16 and 10 kills, respectively. The UMFK hitters were extremely efficient, making just three errors the entire match while racking up 45 kills. Selina Castro had 40 assists. Tiara Nolen, Fabiola Gutierrez, and Sweet Vaimoui each had four service aces.
UMFK will play again Wednesday night at 5:00pm, in a doubleheader against University of Maine at Presque Isle.
