Fort Kent, Maine—The University of Maine at Fort Kent women’s basketball team closed their regular season with a 68-54 over Alfred State College on Sunday afternoon. Senior forward Sam Carapellucci scored her 1000th point with 3:20 left in the fourth period and finished with a game high 23 points.
The Bengals defense was suffocating once again as they held Alfred State to 19 first half points. The Bengals also shot 20-26 from the foul line to close the game in the fourth quarter. Ericka Saucier scored 20 points and 7 rebounds.
Alfred State was led by Kelly Kane who scored 15 points.
