Georgetown, Kentucky--The University of Maine at Fort Kent women's soccer team continued its winning ways on the road, this time beating one of the top NAIA women's soccer teams in the country. Georgetown College opened the season, recieving votes in the national poll, but they were no match for UMFK, as the Bengals won 3-0.
UMFK outshot Georgetown 27-13 and dominated the match from start to finish. The first year superstar duo from Ghana, teamed up for the first two goals of the match in the tenth and 30th minutes. Jennifer Cudjoe fed teammate Sherifatu Sumaila for both goals.
In the second half, Sumalia found Marie-Laurence Montagne in the 63rd minute to close the scoring for the match. Keeper Peighton Ahlberg saved all seven shots she faced to pick up the win in goal.
