Harlin Career Night Leads UMFK

Media, Pennsylvania—The University of Maine at Fort Kent men’s basketball won their first game of the second semester, and their eight in a row as they defeated host school, Penn State Brandywine, 79-62 on Thursday evening. UMFK now moves to 11-2 on the season, bettering the best start in school history with every victory.

Junior Travis Harlin scored a game and career high 31 points, including 25 in the first half. He shot 13-18 from the floor and pulled down a game high 12 rebounds as well. The Bengals led from start to finish and pulled away at 20-20 when Harlin scored 12 straight points for UMFK. Rosevelt Smith had 12 points and 11 rebounds, while Stephon Bell had 10 and 10 and Fred Sanchez added 12 points.

The Bengals outrebounded PSU Brandywine 57-37, including 19 on the offensive end. Both teams were sloppy with the ball as they combined for 47 turnovers in the contest. UMFK held their opponents to just 32% from the floor, including 27% from three point range.

UMFK will play Cincinnati Clermont in the second game of the PSU Brandywine Holiday Classic tomorrow at 2:00 pm.
