Bengals Move to 19-5 with Win at Augusta

Augusta, Maine-- The University of Maine at Fort Kent placed all eight players that played in double figures in a blowout victory against University of Maine at Augusta, 129-69. This was a season high in points for UMFK.

The Bengals led from start to finish as they opened the game on a 22-5 run with full court pressure defense and easy conversion layups. UMFK scored 70 in the first half to lead by 30. The Bengals forced 15 Moose turnovers and shot 65% in the half.

UMFK stayed hot and tightened up their defense in the second half holding the Moose under their season average of 77. The Bengals out-rebounded their opponents 58-29, including 24 on the offensive end. It seemed as though UMFK shot until they made the basket on many occasions.

Travis Harlin Jr. led the charge with 24 points and six steals. Joe McCloskey had with 23 points and 12 rebounds. Bobby Syvanthong scored a career high 21 to go along with eight rebounds, five assists and four steals. Rosevelt Smith Jr. had 11 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists.

Fred Sanchez hit four threes and finished with 14. Will White and Benson Arogbo finished with 12 and 11 respectively. Nikola Vukosavovic had his first double double of the season with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Augusta was led by USCAA Division II leading scorer Dustin Simpson-Bragg who had 25 points.
