Richards joined UMFK in 2012 from nearby Presque Isle High School in her native Presque Isle, Maine. During her 2011-12 senior season, Richards ran the point for the undefeated Lady Wildcats who captured the Maine State Class B State Championship under Coach Jeff Hudson. Richards is also a starting mid-fielder on the UMFK women's soccer team.
