The University of Maine-Fort Kent men's basketball team fell to Wentworth Institute of Technology 76-48 in the consolation game at the Trinity College Holiday Invitational Tuesday afternoon in Hartford, CT. The Bengals shoot just 36% (14-39) a day after a 28% effort (14-50) in a loss to tournament host Trinity College.
Wentworth opened the contest on a 8-0 run and started the second on a 9-0 spurt putting them up by 20 points (44-24) and UMFK (3-9) was not able to recover. Mike McClung (Fy., Mars Hill, ME), who was named to the All-Tournament Team, led the Bengals with 14 points.
UMFK will look to bounce back this Saturday and Sunday when they host the United Insurance Can-Am Classic in Fort Kent. UMFK faces Dalhousie Agricultural on Saturday (Jan. 4) at 6pm and the University of New Brunswick-St. John on Sunday at 4pm.
