The Virginia University-Lynchburg Dragons held the visiting University of Maine-Fort Kent Bengals scoreless for nearly 12minutes in the first half and jumped out to a 27-7 lead on their way to a convincing 71-47 win in a non-conference game from Lynchburg, Virginia. UMFK (5-11) closes out a three-game road trip Saturday against Washington Adventist in a 6pm game.

On Thursday evening VUL (7-12) held cold shooting UMFK to 13 first half points and led 48-13 at the break. UMFK was just 1-15 from three point range in the first half and 1-7 in the second a day after knocking down 12-25 against Apprentice. The Bengals responded in the second half attacking the basket led by Nikola Vukosavovic (FY C Bar, Montenegro) who scored 12 of his team-high 16 points after the break. UMFK got the VUL lead under 20points mid-way into the second half but simply ran out of time.

VUL was led by Denis Gravely and Lauren McPaul with 12 points each.
