Game Recap

Lemont Furnace, PA- The University of Maine Fort Kent men's basketball team dropped a hotly contested game this afternoon to NAIA & USCAA power Rochester College, 69-56.

The Bengals dug themselves a 15 point half time deficit and could never quite work their way back. They did work themselves back to 10 as the defense tightened up, but as has been the story all season, the Bengals could not make shots. UMFK was only 4-15 from 3, and just couldn't get one to fall when they needed it most.

Sophomore Joe McCloskey had a career game with 26 points and was unstoppable inside for the Warrior defense. His array of moves kept UMFK in the game the entire way. Qaadir Ali chipped in 14 points, Marquis Glenn 11 and James Givens 5, but those four players were the only scorers in the game.

Rochester was led by Paris Pereira who scored 22 including 15 in a dominant first half. The Warriors were far more balanced with four other guys scoring at least 6 points.

The Bengals will try to right the ship tomorrow in the 2nd day of a back to back to back schedule against Penn State Fayette at 1:00pm.
