MEN'S BASKETBALL vs. NEW JERSEY INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY
There are no upcoming games currently scheduled. Please check back at a later time.
Newark, NJ--The University of Maine Fort Kent Men's basketball team fought throughout for all 40 minutes, but the physicality of the NCAA Division I program, New Jersey Institute of Technology was too much for the Bengals to handle. NJIT won by a score of 89-55.
The Bengals were in the game for the first 12 minutes, trailing only 24-20, but a 22-11 run to end the half put the Highlanders up by 15. NJIT would continue to stretch the lead as Sophomore Damon Lynn hit seven 3 pointers, en route to 23 points. UMFK was forced into tough shots all night long as the defense of NJIT was like nothing the Bengals had faced all season.
UMFK was led by Joe McCloskey's double double, with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Mauro Vicic chipped in with 13 points and two 3 pointers.
The Bengals close the 2014-2015 season with a road contest at MASCAC member Framingham State, Wednesday at 6pm.
