BENNINGTON, Vt. — Playing for the first time in a week, the University of Maine at Fort Kent women's basketball team showed no signs of rust as they crushed Southern Vermont College, 96-65 on Sunday afternoon.
The Bengals closed out the first quarter with a 9-2 run to claim a lead they would not relinquish for the rest of the day. UMFK shot at a 58.2 percent (39-67) clip from field goal range. The Bengals took a 44-33 edge on the glass and notched 20 points off turnovers
UMFK was powered by two strong performances, senior center Ericka Saucier dropping in 39 points while grabbing 10 rebounds for the double-double as junior Romanalyn Inocencio followed with 27 points, 11 assists and six boards.
