Game Recap

Norwich, Vermont--The University of Maine at Fort Kent played well in spurts, but it wasn't enough as the Bengals fell to Trinty College of Connecticut, 74-54, on the opening night of the Ed Hockenbury Invitational at Norwich University.

UMFK held Trinity to 30% (10-30) shooting in the first half, but only scored 15 points themselves. Alex Moral-Sanchez hit a three point shot with 6:24 to go in the third that cut the lead to 31-22. However Trinity then went on a 10-0 run to extend the lead to 19 (41-22) until Savana Jankowski stopped the bleeding with 3:52 to go in the third. UMFK then went on their own 10-0 run to cut the lead to just nine with a minute to go in the period.

The Bengals would hang around all fourth quarter, going down by as many as 17 (57-40), but would make one last run to cut the deficit to 59-51 with a little over four minutes to play. But ultimately the Bantams were too much for UMFK. Trinity outrebound the Bengals 44-18.
