Game Recap

Norwich, VT—The University of Maine Fort Kent Women’s basketball team dropped the championship contest of the Ed Hockebury classic Saturday afternoon to host Norwich, 65-48. The Bengals shooting woes and turnovers were ultimately the difference in the the game. UMFK turned the ball over 28 times and shot just 28% from the floor.

Ericka Saucier led the Bengals with 13 points but was limited to just 7 field goal attempts. She also had 10 rebounds. Jasmin Rowland finished with 9 points and 10 rebounds and was UMFK’s selection to the All-Tournament team.

Aliah Curry for Norwich was the player who gave the Bengals fits. She scored a game-high 25 and also had 5 assists to lead the Cadets to the title. Norwich had 21 offensive rebounds and turned the UMFK turnovers into 25 points.

The Bengals will be back in action tomorrow as they stop in Standish for a contest with St. Josephs of Maine. Tipoff is at  1:00pm.
