WOMEN'S SOCCER vs. UNIVERSITY OF MAINE MACHIAS
There are no upcoming games currently scheduled. Please check back at a later time.
Fort Kent, Maine—Quick goals are nothing new to the University of Maine at Fort Kent women’s soccer team (5-0), so it was only fitting that Marie-Laurance Montagne knocked a Yosselin Burrueco cross in the goal just 50 seconds into the match. The Bengals would only roll from there adding six more goals to cruise, 7-1 over University of Maine at Machias (2-1).
UMFK outshot Machias 30-2 and the depth of the Bengals was just too much in the end. Katherine Ferland and Kayla Richards added goals in the first half as well. Kendra Freund, who has scored five goals in her last two home matches, added a goal in each half. Catherine Bruno also added a goal in the second half on a beautiful half volley on another Burrueco cross.
Machias’ Brooklyne Lewis added a second half goal for the Clippers. Machias keeper Hayley Choate made 10 saves and UMFK keeper’s Michelle Delgadillo and Jessica Kozachuk did not make a save while picking up the win.
