Fort Kent, Maine—The University of Maine at Fort Kent women’s soccer team sent its seniors out on a high note as they won their final home game of the 2015 season, 9-1 against Albany College of Pharmacy. UMFK dominated play and used their depth to overpower the Panthers. Marie-Laurence Montagne led the way with two goals and two assists. She opened the scoring in the 21st minute with some beautiful footwork allowed her to get past a couple defenders and a flick in front of goal caught Senior Katherine Ferland’s foot and past diving keeper Amy Jagareski. It was then Ferland who returned the favor to Montagne as she crossed a ball that went through the keepers hands and Montagne was there to knock it home
Alex Beauchesne had an assist and a neatly placed lefty goal in the first half. Veronica De La Cruz also added a goal and had the assist on the Beauchesne goal. UMFK keeper Michelle Delgadillo picked up another win playing in the first half only
In the second half, the Bengals scored three goals in a six minute span starting in the 58th minute. Yosselin Burrueco had two goals and Marie-Laurence Montagne scored her second goal, each assisting one of each other’s goals. Tiffany Anderson and Beauchesne added late goals to complete the scoring for the Bengals
Albany’s Erin Tersegno scored a nice goal from a breakaway in the 60th minute past UMFK keeper Jessica Kozachuk. It was Albany Pharmacy’s only shot on goal of the match. The panther’s keeper played a decent game making seven saves in the first half to keep the game close early.
