Game Recap

 The UMFK women’s soccer team defeated NAIA school Point Park University (Pittsburg, PA) 2-0 Monday afternoon to take their second straight win on a three game swing through Pennslyvania. The Lady Bengals (11-1) defeated USCAA #11 ranked Carlow University (Pittsburg, PA) 1-0 on Sunday. UMFK will wrap up their trip with a 2pm game at USCAA #8 Penn College on Tuesday.

In Monday’s game, UMFK scored two first half goals and keeper Kimika Forbes made nine saves on nine shots by Point Park who fell to 5-9 overall but remain undefeated at 3-0 in the NAIA Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (KIAC). 

UMFK got on the board when Ariane Leberge-Pelletier scored in the 5th minute on a through ball by Marie-Laurence Montagne. Katherine Ferland then added an insurance goal in the 31st minute on a PPU turnover converting on a strike from the top of the 18. 

Point Park keeper Erica Roney made eight saves on 10 UMFK shots in the loss.
