The U-Maine-Fort Kent women's soccer team played host Roberts Wesleyan College (NY) to a 1-1 draw Saturday in up-state New York in the first of two tune-up games for UMFK as they prepare for the USCAA National Championships. UMFK (14-1-1) got the game tying goal off the foot of freshmen Marie-Laurence Montagne just minutes into the second half and then both teams were shutout through the rest of the second and two overtime sessions.
Senior keep Kimika Forbes picked up 12 big saves in goal for UMFK on 13 RWC shots. UMFK will close out their regular season Sunday when they play at SUNY ESF in Syracuse, NY at 11am and then head to Charleston, West Virginia where they are the top seed in the 2013 USCAA Soccer National Championships (see story here).
