STANDISH, Maine – Led by Tournament MVP Payton Spragling, the University of Maine at Fort Kent (5-2) defeated Saint Joseph’s College (4-4), 3-0 (25-23, 32-30, 25-18) to claim the SJC Autumn Invitational for the second-consecutive season. 

The Bengals rebounded from yesterday’s 3-1 setback at the hands of the Monks to claim their second-consecutive SJC Autumn Invitational in a hard-fought three-set sweep. The Bengals were on fire hitting, with 41 kills over the four sets.

For the Bengals, junior Mia Satterfield netted 12 kills in 27 attempts with a .259 attack rate, junior Haley West dealt 35 assists with 10 digs, senior Kamalani Kahele added 23 digs, and senior Hope Driscoll and junior Adrianna Gutierrez notched eight kills apiece.

For the Monks, freshman Erin Olson (Stoughton, Mass.) posted a .304 attack rate with 10 kills and three miscues in 23 attempts, Copp added nine kills and four block solos, Bickford tallied nine kills and four digs, and Dyer contributed 33 assists and nine digs. Thompson registered 23 digs and Randall made the box score with two kills, five aces, and 10 digs.
