Coaching Experience

Fletcher Brown began his coaching career as Assistant Men's Basketball coach for UMFK after competing for the Bengals the previous two seasons. Brown proved a useful addition to Coach Bird as he lead off-season workouts and asissted in recruiting. Following his stint as Assistant Men's Basketball coach, he was named Head Women's Basketball Coach for the 2017-2018 season.

Brown came to Fort Kent after attending and playing for Contra Costa Community College in San Pablo, California for his freshman and sophomore seasons. As a freshman, Brown was a member of the Contra Costa team that reached the California Community College Athletic Association State Playoffs.

Prior to Contra Costa, the 2012 Balboa High School graduate was team captain and voted team MVP as well as awarded an All-City selection in his home town of San Francisco, California.

While playing for the Bengals, Brown competed in 54 games, starting 45 of them and winning 32. Head coach Tom Bird named him the Most Valuable Player of the 2014-2015 season.

Brown brings an enthusiasm for the game as well as a perspective well beyond his years. Both as a player and an assistant coach, Brown has been -- and continues to be -- a welcomed member of the UMFK family.
