Game Recap

The top-seed Daemen College (Amherst, NY) defeated the eight-seed U-Maine-Fort 98-36 in a USCAA Women’s Basketball Div. 1 National Championship Quarterfinal hosted by Penn State Fayette in Uniontown, Pennsylvania Wednesday afternoon. UMFK (16-12) will play a consolation game tomorrow morning at 8am vs. no. 5 Virginia Lynchburg. Daemen advances to play no. 4 Rochester College at 1pm Friday.

On Wednesday afternoon, Daemen was led by Ellie Allen who had 19 points (8-12) and collected nine rebounds and Lindsay Stoddard added 14 points and six rebounds. The Lady Wildcats shot 59% from the field in the second half and shot 54% for the game. They also held a 63-27 advantage in total rebounds and a 27-6 discrepancy in assists.

Taylor Boucher (Jr., G, Fort Kent) and Jennifer Colpitts (Jr., G, Scarborough, Maine) both had 9 points to lead UMFK in the programs first ever appearance at the USCAA National Championship.
