The University of Maine at Fort Kent women's basketball team opened their season Saturday with a big 76-47 win over Thomas College in the Star City Classic hosted by the University of Maine at Presque Isle.

Sophomore Sam Carapellucci recorded a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds for UMFK (1-0).
