The UMFK women's soccer team scored four first half goals on their way to a 6-0 blanking of host Warren Wilson College in a 2012 USCAA Women's Soccer National Championship Quarterfinal match from Asheville, North Carolina Thursday afternoon. UMFK will face #5 Albany College of Pharmacy who were 5-1 up-set winners over #4 Paul Smith's, in a 11am semifinal tomorrow, Friday November 2.
In Thursday's first round match, freshmen forward Katherine Ferland scored three goals and added an assist for top ranked UMFK who improved to 15-0 on the year. Kimika Forbes, who was forced to make a second half penalty kick save, picked up the shutout win in goal for the Lady Bengals. Ariane Pelletier scored two goals for the Lady Bengals and senior captain Theresa Biggs added the other for the two-time defending USCAA National Champions.
