Katherine Ferland racked up four goals and added an assist to lead U-Maine-Fort Kent women’s soccer to a 7-0 blanking of U-Maine-Presque Isle Sunday in a USCAA matchup from Fort Kent, Maine. UMFK won their eleventh straight game improving to 13-1 on the season.

On Sunday in Fort Kent, Maine on Senior day UMFK honored goal keeper Kimika Forbes and mid Victoria Dubois-Iredale prior to the contest and then made the day even more memorable for them beating their Aroostook County neighbors. Brianna Mills opened the scoring for UMFK in the 5th minute followed by two Ferland goals in the 7th and 18th minute giving the host a comfortable 3-0 lead at the break. Freshmen mid Emma Ashby opened second half scoring with a tally in the 49th minute followed by two more Ferland goals in the 51st and 61st minutes. Ariane Leberge-Pelletier notched the seventh and final goal for UMFK in the 64th minute.

Forbes made one save on one shot in the first half playing in her last career game in Fort Kent before giving way to Jessica Kozachuk who made three saves on three shots securing the shut out win for UMFK.

USCAA saves leader Amanda Larrabee made 15 saves on 22 UMFK shots on goal in the loss for UMPI who fell to 3-9-1. The Lady Bengals riffled 41 total shots to UMPI’s seven and held a six to zero edge in corners.
