Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania—The UMFK women’s soccer team completed the sweep against NAIA, KIAC schools, Carlow University and Point Park University on Monday afternoon. The Bengals beat PPU 2-0 and Carlow on Sunday, 6-1.
On Monday, Amarani Carbajal scored off a free kick from 22 yards away, 16 minutes in to put UMFK on the scoreboard. Keeper Michelle Delgadillo was busy all game and had to make 10 saves on the day to preserve the shutougt. UMFK outshot their opponents 20-18. Marie-Laurence Montagne added an insurance goal in the 53rd minute off a header from a Katherine Ferland corner kick.
