September 6, 2016 • Charleston, West Virginia

Beckley, West Virginia--The three-time defending USCAA champion Bengals, won a matchup of USCAA powers on Sunday afternoon, 4-1, beating West Virginia Tech on the road.

Jennifer Cudjoe, the transfer who played on Ghana U-21 National team scored a goal just four minutes in to set the tone for the Bengals. The ball would stay on UMFK's side of the court for the better part of the half but neither team could find the back of the net.

Two minutes into the second half, her Ghanaian teammate Sherifatu Sumaila, scored off a pass from Senior Amairani Carbajal. WVU Tech cut the lead in half three minutes later, when Tyler Graves headed a corner kick past keeper Peighton Ahlberg.

Cudjoe then scored her second goal on a direct kick from about 20 yards away to seal the victory for UMFK in the 62nd minute.

Valentina Green and Ahlberg combined in goal for the victory, saving two shots.
